🎥Video Resources for Step 2

• I explored many video resources for Step 2.
• During Step 1, I did not prefer English sources.
  • Not due to the language.
  • But because most of them are just review resources (needs student to have a background on topic).
• In medical school, I did not study internal medicine, pediatrics, or surgery well.
• I was biased toward Arabic lectures because they built the foundations, not just reviewed.
• Therefore, I subscribed to Dr. Elhusseiny’s lectures, same as I did for Step 1.
• I also used:
  • Divine Intervention podcasts.
  • Some HY Guru lectures on YouTube.
  • Dr. Osama Elsawah for biostatistics. (his new video on bone tumors will be super useful for ur exam trust me)
  • Dr. Wael Tawfic for quality improvement and patient safety.
• I did not like Boards and Beyond during Step 1 at all.
• I found Online MedEd not comprehensive enough.
• So the video resource that fit my specific situation was Arabic lectures.

🎯 How I Used Video Lectures Strategically

• I did not watch full courses.

• For example:

  • I found Step 2 surgery easier than what we studied in college.
  • So I only watched topics I was weak in (e.g., intestinal obstruction).

• This selective approach applied to all other disciplines.

• I focused only on weak areas like:

  • Ear, nose and throat (ENT)
  • Ophthalmology
  • Syncope
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) algorithm

📌 Advice on Choosing Video Sources

• Find a video source you personally like.
• Preferably, stick to what you were comfortable with during Step 1.
