🍽️ You're Eating Well with NBME Content in Step 2 CK
- There is no shortage, in fact, there's an excess of high-quality NBME material.
- You're getting questions written by the same people who write the actual exam.
- That means better alignment, better learning, and a better sense of what to expect.
🧮 Total Question Count (Approx. 4,500 Questions!)
- CMS Forms: 48 forms × 50 questions = ~2400 Qs
- Old NBMEs (6, 7, 8): 3 forms × 186 questions = ~560 Qs
- New NBMEs (9–15): 7 forms × 200 questions = ~1400 Qs
- Old Free 120s (2019, 2021, current online): 3 forms × 120 questions = ~360 Qs
- That’s more than double what Step 1 offered, and it’s way more relevant to your real exam.
🧠 CMS Strategy: Focused, Not Random
- I did 2 CMS forms per day.
- I highly recommend doing them subject-based, not random.
- For example: Finish all 8 Surgery forms, then move to IM, etc.
- Why?
- You get to connect ideas better.
- You see what they love to ask in each subject.
- When you reach the NBME phase, you’ve already done mini-assessments covering the entire curriculum.
📅 NBME Assessment Plan
- I started taking one NBME per week.
- This kept:
- A consistent pace.
- Enough time to study and improve between forms.
